Ram has returned to Ayodhya after marriage with Sita from Janakpuri, the whole Ayodhya is happy, here King Dashrath is busy in preparations for the coronation to make Shri Ram sit on the throne of Ayodhya. All the people of Ayodhya are very happy with this decision.

On the other hand, Kaikeyi’s favorite maid Manthra arrives in Kaikeyi’s palace. Where she reminds Kaikeyi of an old incident… During the war, Maharaja Dasharath had promised you in exchange for saving his life, that you can ask for any two boons from him whenever you want. Kaikeyi unwillingly falls into Manthra’s trap. And sits silently in her palace without drinking water for many days. As soon as King Dasharath gets to know this, he immediately comes to meet Kaikeyi in her room. And asks the reason for her sadness and anger.

Just as Manthra had taught her, Kaikeyi reminds King Dasharath of the promise given by him, and in the first boon, she asks for Bharat’s entire kingdom of Ayodhya and in the second boon, she asks for 14 years of exile for Ram.

King Dasharath is stunned to hear all this, but Kaikeyi is adamant on her conditions. With a heavy heart, King Dasharath accepts Kaikeyi’s conditions, but he goes into a dying state.

On the orders of Kaikeyi, Shri Ram was called before her, and Kaikeyi gives him the message that your father wants you to live in the forest for the next fourteen years… Shri Ram, undoubtedly obeying this order of his parents, starts preparing to leave for the forest. Before leaving home, he goes to meet his mother Kaushalya…where he tells his mother,

Instead of the kingship, mother, I have got the order of being a beggar

Oh mother, I am waiting for your last order

Father has given the kingship to Bharat, I have been ordered to go to the forest

I will stay in the forest for fourteen years, there is no order to come here

Hearing all this, tears are not stopping from the eyes of mother Kaushalya

Finally, taking permission from mother Kaushalya, Shri Ram along with Sita and Lakshman leave for the forest.

On the other hand, King Dasharath remembers the curse of separation from his son given by the parents of Shravan Kumar. Remembering this incident, Dasharath gives up his life.
